I don't know about any other photographers around here, but I get so frustrated that my photos never come out the way I see them on my computer screen. Well I finally wised up today. I figured there has to be a shop that has information on what profiles they use to print from. The local shop I go to of course didn't on their website, so I went to another photo place I shop from a lot that's based out of NYC. Adorama is the name of this place. I get a lot of my supplies from them. Anyway, they had information on what color profile to set my display to and a downloadable color profile to use specific to their printing. HOPEFULLY my prints will come out just as I see them on my screen. That would be absolutely fantastic. Learning as you go kind of sucks.

I got an email back from the Hygienic about the F-stops Here show. My two prints weren't accepted. *sniff* *sniff* Oh well... Better luck next year. When I dropped off my prints, there was a flyer for the same type of show at the Norwich Art Center in April. It was 5 dollars more a piece, but I'm going to do it anyways. I still haven't made it down to the Norwich Art Center. I need to do that to get the scoop on what the rental space is like and about being a member and such. Kind of bummed about not getting into the show, but that's all a part of the deal I guess. I'll get over it =0)

Today I am entering two photographs into the Hygienic's The F-stops Here juried photography show.
Back at the end of January I entered another photograph to the Hygienic's Salon Des Independants. There wasn't a jury for this show. It's open to the public and anyone can enter just one piece. It's a really fun community show. Not as many people entered things this year, but still a decent turn out. It's really great to see all the different styles and talents people around the area have. Here's what I entered:

I am so sad right now. I am working on my A Day in Blankeyville series and wanted to create the day I spilt my Tinkerbell nail polish on my blankey. Well wouldn't you know they are no where to be found. No one is selling them on Ebay, people on forums said that Longs Pharmacy now sells it, but I cannot find it. (CVS bought out Longs, but I still couldn't find it in a search.) I think I might have to go with something that has the similar color and shape to the bottle. Makes me sad though, I really wanted it to be authentic to my memory. I'll post the picture when I've finished the shoot.

This is a piece I was commissioned to do for a client. He really liked this print, but wanted color for his office. I offered to paint the crayons for him and he really liked the idea. The print is part of a series of photographs I've been working on called "A Day in Blankeyville." 2011/2012
This is a piece I was commissioned to do for a client for his wife. It is a portrait of their three children.
This piece was done for the same client as above but for his daughter. It is titled "Sunsets and Tea."
